Good news...Bad news...

Good news - I got a nice new car...
Bad news - it got taken away from me today (6 days old!!!) as the computer on board is faulty ...I do not have a good relationship with my cars!

Bad news - the insurance man has being playing silly buggers with my case (remember THAT sewage incident before Christmas!) He thinks we were overcharged by Dynopoo- yeh well it was Christmas week and btw Mr Assessor...your boss told me to just get it sorted as we needed to be able to flush the toilet over the Christmas festivities! He offered a measly €2,500 off the €4k bill - not good enough mate!

Good news - After stern words from my DH yesterday - he backed down and agreed to pay the lot - RESULT!

Good news - I found a roof contractor! Remember THAT roof problem before Christmas - yeh the same week as THAT sewage problem!

Bad news - he cancelled without letting me know today - yep I'm telepathic and can absolutely read your mind sunshine!

Good news - he's rebooked me in for Sat am - we shall see!

Got lost in utube for an hour with Eva tonight - we had such a giggle with this one!

Scrapwest Canvas Class

Over on SCRAPWEST last Friday it was my turn to do a tutorial so I decided to do a class on altering a canvas. Check it out and feel free to link up your work in the comments section. This is one of the samples I made up - which also doubled up as a birthday gift for me sister Edel showing her two baba's when they were almost the same age.

Have been busy in the craft sense so here's a few I haven't shown before...

'When I grow up' shows Eva and her little list of things she would like to do-youu gotta love her ambition at age 7...

This one entitled 'simple moments' was inspired by a pencil lines sketch a few months back and it shows Lucy when she had just started wobbling around unaided.

I went to one of Annamarie's classes a few months back and we made this lovely boy/dinosaur themed LO which featured my nephew Sam in Donegal last July...

Crop and Canvas Class

Today we had our second class and crop in Le Cheile, Donnycarney. It was a full house and there were lots of messy hands and glittered faces as we got busy with canvas painting and triple embossing. I was well impressed with these talented ladies as they turned out masterpieces in time for Valentine's day!

Thanks to everyone who came along today and we'll see you again on Sat Feb 16th in LeCheile.

Sneaky Peaks...

This weekend we will be altering a 30x40cm canvas for our monthly class and crop with a Valentine's day/love theme - great way of sorting out that pressie next month. Here's a sneaky preview - don't forget to check your inbox for details if you have signed up for this class. We will be dabbling with triple embossing so if you would like to play you need to bring along all those lovely inks and versamarks that are gathering dust!

New Year's Resolutions...

Every year I make them and I usually have given up by mid January. However I am going to start a few new ones just to keep me on my toes...This LO was inspired by the talented EVA over on Scrapwest blog this week. If you would like to take her free class pop over and have a look!

So for the record, here's mine for 2008...

1. Drink 6 glasses of water a day - I know according to the World Health Organisation or something equally as informative, that you are supposed to drink 8 glasses. However, I have a new plan-I have a small cupcake tray which has 6 circular slots so I have started to put a glass in the top circle when I get up and drink a glass and then all I have to do is work my way through the 6 circles. Hey 6 is better than none right??? According to health experts I can look forward to losing 2 stone, extending my life and developing dewey line free facial skin of a 20 year old over the coming year!

2. Walk a mile a day - that's the one that normally gets chucked out in the first week of January. Will have a go - no promises.

3. Don't spend beyond my means - eh yeh right.. Anyone who knows me well will know that's a bit ambitious to say the least buy I will try - honest! I only use 10% of the worldly possessions so I don't need any more at this point in time...well apart from a couple of Cricut Expression carts and a nice pair of leather tan knee high boots. A girl can dream...

4. See more of my friends - have been good at that over Christmas so that's a good possibility of being a successful one!

5. Use up my craft stash - impossible at this stage to use it all in my own lifetime but I do plan on putting a dent in it - knocking out 5 LO's a week (...X 52 weeks..em that's 260 LO's for 2008 - what a challenge!).

6. Sit on the floor and play with my kids more - instead of finding exuses to do boring housework or other non essential stuff. These years are not here forever - and I need reminding of that sometimes...

So with this in mind - here's something lovely I found over on Scrapdolly's blog from utube.. very apt for the New Year. So what's yours then...?

Some crafty bits...
It's been a while since I showed anything crafty on my blog due to the business and excesses of Christmas, so here's a few...

Two Scrapwest layouts, Winter Wonderland and Reflections...

I was commissioned to make some scrapbook pages for presents so here's two I made earlier...

These are 16''x16'' canvases I made for family and friends for Christmas involving lots of dabbling with Jesso and metallic paint which is fun to use. Can you tell I like blue huh?

This is a 15''x15'' framed layout - have been meaning to do this one for ages so glad that it's done now...

Finally this is the card I made my parents for Christmas...

Welcome 2008!

Well we rang in the new year last night with a full house - 19 in all including 9 children and it was so much fun! I cooked up a storm, counted down with champers together and then partied into the wee hours as the kids crashed out upstairs.

Looking back on 2007 it was overall a great year for our family - a few lows but lots of highs and good memories and achievements to make it a happy year for us. Here's a few of my own favourite photos from 2007 which sum up the year for me...
